Here’s a quote from Mike Murdock in his book;
31 Reasons People Do Not Receive their Financial Harvest
“A seed is a tiny beginning with a huge future. It is anything that can become more. It is the Beginning. It is anything you can do, know or possess that can improve the life of another.”
So? What does your stock of such seed look like? And what are you doing about sowing them?
Dad and I have big double pink poppies, and some reds that volunteer to come up all over our garden. We do not need to sow them, as they take care of that all by themselves.
Now at the end of a summer, you should see the pods on these flower stems. Join your thumb and finger to make a circle. The pods are at least that big and deep. They are chock FULL of tiny grey or black seeds. The pods turn into salt shakers with holes in the top, and as the wind wafts them to and fro, they shake their seeds all over the garden.
Dad gathers lots of them into jars to keep from being over-run by poppies, and in the sping he hoes out a lot of them as they spring up between all other plants like eager weeds. still, we let a number grow up just to see the lovely carnation like pink flowers.
Did you know that you are like that poppy pod, full of invisible seeds, blessings you can scatter into the lives of others? You have quite a variety too!
There’s your love, a seed for relationships with your family and friends. You get the same 60 minutes every hour as anyone else. Each minute scatters on the wind never to return, so you might as well load them with blessings for others. Those minutes are more valuable than you realize!
Every time you show patience with someone you are dropping a seed gift into them.
Whenever you give your money as a gift, or spend it in a wise investment, you are sowing precious seeds.
A kind deed to a friend or stranger in need is a good seed too. A bit of a miracle seed besides, for you never know how that person will turn it into a huge blessing on others whom you may never meet.
Each prayer you say for someone else is a good seed. Remember Jesus could feed thousands with one boy’s lunch. When He answers your prayer tremendous things can begin!
Do you express gratitude to those who are kind to you? Those words of thanks are seeds too; they encourage that person to continue doing good. They may even avert serious discouragement and quiting.
Ah-ha, you do so have plenty of invisible seeds to sow! Put that idea out of your head, that you have nothing to offer.
In case you are not used to working in the garden, let me give you this exciting, thrilling seed-thought; after a seed is planted it springs up, and once it comes to fruit - it brings you a magnificient harvest of MORE seeds!
Yeah, let’s go out and sow with reckless abandon!
