This is a handmade, hard-cover, (4 lb) Family History book. It is covered in padded
cotton fabric with tiny prints, reminincent of the dresses my maternal grandmother wore, for she was
an Old Colony Mennonite woman.
|
The first 200 pages are my beloved Gr'ma Kroeker's life story as told from translations of her
personal diaries for the most part. The first chapter about her ancestors (as much as I had at that
time), and the last chapters about how I was her caregiver as I took over the journalling habit.
Most of the narrative tells Gr'ma's life story as I took it from her diaries. I've included some of
her favourite expressions, and clippings she saved.
There is a black and white photo section of six pages, then...
The last 100 pages are genealogy tree drawings and charts, showing her father's side (Friesens),
and her mother's side (Neudorfs), her husband's side (Kroekers), and her parents' descendants
in greater detail. Closing with a map of the Saskatchewan villages in her country world, and
a P.S. with a late-breaking news of more data about her grandfather Friesen's parents and
siblings.
You can learn more about our family tree names and dates by checking these drawings, scanned
and on my genealogy site.

Cover Differences
I used three bolts of small print cottons for the covers. So the cover of the book you recieve may
not be precisely like the one in the photos. One is tiny pink rosebuds on a darker background,
another is tiny blue/yellow flowers on a medium blue background, and the one in these photos is two
shades of pink on medium blue.
Pricing
Originally, when I finished binding this big batch of 300 books, I sold them for $30 each. Mostly I
wanted to be paid for the many back-breaking hours of work I'd put into them. Each weighs no less
than four pounds, and contains over 300 sheets of paper that I handled in all stages of printing,
collating, binding, etc.
However, as the memory of that work fades, and I realize that I have much better ways of producing
my genealogy books, I've been willing to let them go for $15 each. Then, just enough to cover the
postage.
I tell Dad that if I should hit fame for my novels, these books will become collector items. Then
they'll fetch a pretty penny! Only, now they are getting in my way, and so instead of
hoarding them, I'm ready to let them go. As long as I get my postage covered. That can range from
$10 to $15 Canadian, depending on how far it has to travel by post. - So, shall we look at your
postal code and strike a deal?!
Shipping
My first, most economical thought is to send the book by parcel post. It's most convenient for me.
If you would rather I send it by UPS, or even Greyhound bus, I can do that too. For the UPS or any
courier, I would need time to get to the city, or probably until the next day if I wanted them to
pick the parcel up. Since there are only a few copies of A Godly Inheritance left, I'm
willing to cooperate and work out a shipping plan to our mutual satisfaction.
Hey, I'll even give you a discount, if you come pick it up at our door!

condensed), please visit my genealogy site, http://AGodlyInheritance.com
