A third column on the far right is optional; some people like it as a spot for ads or buttons and banners of other affiliate programs that they are trying to promote. Or, perhaps for sidebars to their main text area.

Top Heading - title

This page is set up so you can see the basic areas of a page. They can certainly get more complicated than this, and also simpler, but things get pretty slippery on the web, so you have to block your areas of text and graphics in table cells to hold them in place. The more cells to a table the trickier it is to keep things balanced and attractive! :)

Naturally, these cell-block borders do not need to show. It's when they are invisible that things look as if they are side by side.

[If you do not use Cascading Style Sheets (css), margins and font codes have to be set afresh in each cell of your table. Also the backgrounds. But that's where you can begin to have fun with the tables. as you can layer things and use different touches in each area. When I remove the border=1 code you see everything in its place without this boxed look].

Since I have learned to use css I can set up your template so that you really don't have to worry about inserting a lot of codes. You will probably get away with simply adding line-returns (or br / s) after each paragraph.

Just so visitors don't have to scroll all the way back up to your side navigational links, repeat them here here. Your contact information should go at the bottom of the page. If you don't place your name and address anywhere, most people will assume you are some fly-by night, untrustworthy person. The most usual spot is at the bottom.

Banners and AdSense links can go here too; by they time they get here readers have decided if they trust you or not.
