The Reasoning Behind This Course
In the cyber-business world, it is becoming common-place to hire people sight-unseen, to perform certain services. Naturally, as clients and service providers, we learn to take precautions to make sure we get honest service as advertised. This whole new field is called Virtual Assistants. Many solo web-business owners discover that they don't have the talents or time to run all aspects of their business by themselves. They don't want to hire full-time staff to come into their home, so they go online and find someone to contract for certain specific job or jobs. Most of their inter-office exchange happens by email, or fax, or telephone, and sometimes by regular mail.
I've been doing this for a few years, but have come to that brick wall - I don't have enough time for all the jobs offered to me. Being fairly resourceful, I've been running my own web-businesses, and some for others and discover that one woman can only do so much.
I also like to teach, and have decided I need to multiply myself by training others how to do these virtual tasks, whether for their own web business, or as an assistant to others. So I have registered another business, Azaleas Virtual Assistants to dedicate to some training, internship-style courses. Soon I should be able to hire some people who are able to do things my way, and I can take on more clients.
On the other hand, I can also visualize that many students will say after about four months of training, "I could run my own business from home. I want to quit!" Therefore, I've decided to graduate them all at four months, and start over with new students. If I can persuade some of them to come into my employ as tutors, this small school of four students at a time, will start to multiply and grow. I just KNOW there are many people out there that would love to be able to support themselves with a home business.
I suppose I could offer to teach weekend workshops and seminars, but my impression has been that people attend these, taking notes feverishly, and hoping they can pull it all off when they get home. Unfortunately, life happens to them, and their spare time is swallowed up in many things, or they haven't got the self-discipline to stay at it long enough to learn all the skills necessary. They feel unsure of themselves and wish someone would stand over their shoulder to guide them.
There's the clue. You want someone to stand behind you and say, "Yes, click there. Now do that..." and someone to make you stay in front of the computer enough hours to actually complete the work you start. That's why I think my course plan is going to prove powerful and successful! I will be at your shoulder, making sure you catch on, and learn the steps until they come naturally to you.
In fact, I divide the days into two parts, mornings and afternoons. In one you will learn new skills and practice them on the sites and assignments I've taken on for myself or for non-profits. In the other, usually the afternoons, I will help you to brainstorm and plan your very own web-business and guide you to make sure you succeed. If you work at it like that for 3-4 hours an afternoon, five days a week, for four months, you will not be able to help but do well! People are different, so I hesitate to guarantee this, but I feel confident that you will be earning income from your web business before you graduate!
My Dream is to share knowledge and skills I've sought out and tried myself, with those who need a way to make a living for themselves and their families, and who will remember to be generous with time and money to Christian organizations and the needy around them. I want to encourage ethical and compassionate business entrepreneurs.
I'm also hoping this training course will grow and multiply so that many more students can be helped and started in business.
Furthermore, I'm counting on meeting some fine people whom I might persuade to work for me as tutors and as managers for other business ideas that I have. I have more ideas than one person can do in one lifetime!
